Cash Advantage may amend this policy from time to time. For the most up to date version please visit www.Cash Advantage.ca. “You” or “your” refers to you as a customer of Cash Advantage or a user of www.Cash Advantage.ca (the “Site”). “We” or “our” or “us” refers to Cash Advantage.
Collection and Use

We need your personal information in order to:

  • Confirm your identity
  • Determine your eligibility for products and service
  • Recommend products and services
  • Set up accounts and provide ongoing service
  • Meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Protect you and us from errors, omissions, and fraud

Before Cash Advantage collects Personal Information from an individual, we first obtain that individual’s consent. Consent may be express or implied. We may obtain your express consent in writing, through electronic means, or verbally. Alternatively, your consent may be implied through an action that you’ve taken or when you continue to use a service after being notified of our policy. We obtain your consent the first time we receive your Personal Information. By continuing to make use of the services we provide you imply your ongoing consent to the collection and use of your Personal Information in accordance with this privacy policy.

Once your consent is obtained, Cash Advantage may collect the following types of Personal Information: (i) information we receive from you as part of the application process by telephone or through the Site from registration forms, application forms, transaction documents, surveys, or other documents or submissions related to the services we provide, including: your name, address, telephone number, social insurance number (“SIN”), email address, employment information, demographic information, bank account information, and information about your assets, debts and income; information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account history, transaction balances, payment history, overdraft history, parties to transactions, and your reasons for doing business with us; (ii) information we receive from third parties such as consumer reporting agencies and other lenders regarding your credit worthiness and credit history, and information to verify your identity such as your telephone number; (iii) information we obtain to verify representations made by you, such as your employment history or income; (iv) information obtained from specialized marketing information firms, such as household demographics; (v) information that we receive about you from other online entities who have initially obtained your information but have transferred it to us so that we can provide our services to you; (vi) information obtained from web page http headers (home server domain names, IP address, type of client computer, and type of Web browser); (vii) information, user specific or aggregate, that we receive from our web pages recording visitor access; (viii) information that you provide when you contact our customer service department; (ix) information that you provide when you communicate with us via email or online chat; and (x) information about your computer and network settings. We collect this personal information so that we can evaluate your application for a payday loan, protect against fraud, and provide an online environment that is safe and secure.

We request your SIN for identification, security and credit matching purposes. Your SIN is a reliable way to confirm your identity and ensure proper matching of credit information with credit reporting agencies. You should be aware, however, that permitting us to use your SIN in this way is voluntary. If you choose not to provide us with your SIN, this by itself will not prevent you from applying for a payday loan.

We use Personal Information to: provide you with the services you request; offer you additional products or services, from us or from others, that may be of interest to you; comply with all reporting and other legal requirements; enhance your experience at our Site; collect and process payments and update account records; analyze customer demographics, payment histories, and preferences; conduct statistical analyses and confirm your identity.
